B/W image scanned from a negative of an Oliver Hart-Parr Model 18-28 "Orchard" tractor. This tractor was specifically made for orchards and vineyards, that's why it has rear fenders to cover the entire rear wheels so they wouldn't damage crops when passing by close-planted trees and vineyards. There's also no exhaust pipe coming out of the hood, the exhaust is piped out the side of the engine. 1932 ca. The manufacturer of the Oliver Hart-Parr 18-28 engine was Oliver and Waukesha. The engine was an in-line four cylinder, 280 cubic inch motor. It produced about 25 horsepower. The tractor's engine was started by gasoline, but actually ran on kerosene. Approximately 3,928 of these tractors were produced from 1930 to 1937. Headlights are installed on the pictured tractor, Oliver Hart-Parr were the first mass production tractor manufacturer to put lights on their tractors. |
