B/W image scanned from a negative of a 1930s Oliver Hart-Parr tractor Model 18-28; side view. This is an artist drawing of the tractor. The Oliver Hart-Parr 18-28 was essentially a standard-tread version of the original row crop (Hart-Parr 18-27 tractor) Oliver Hart-Parr tractor. Oliver offered this model in many versions, including the basic standar, the tiptoe wheel tractor [this photograph], the western 18-28, the ricefield 18-28, the tiptoe ricefield, the orchard, and the high road speed version. An orchard tractor has protective metal sheeting that covers the wheels and other parts of the tractor that might get caught on trees and such that are in an orchard. In the 1930s, the Oliver Hart-Parr 18-28 tractor that is pictured in this record cost $1,021.00. |
