Description |
B/W image scanned from a negative of an Oliver Superior seed drill, Model 24. This farm implement would be pulled by a tractor and 'drill' seeds into the soil. It would plant/drill several rows of seeds at one time. According to advertising literature on the Oliver Model 24 Superior seed drill, it could handle seeds from flax to lima beans. The long box on top of the implement held the seeds to be planted. As the seed drill's wheels turned, it arranged the seeds to fall, one at a time, down a tube into the furrow that was cut by the small blade. 1930 ca. |
